Jon Gill…
…has a more than 20 years experience in illustration, graphic design and digital media. As well as design for print and online Jon has a varied experience in service improvement, design and social innovation. Under the umbrella of ‘design thinking‘ Jon makes use of his skills and expertise in drawing, storytelling, animation, audio, video, blogging and social media.
He is currently facilitating a team of service designers and social service professionals to create fresh and pioneering new services for the Scottish Social Services Council, Workforce Of The Future initiative (partnered with IRISS).
Jon also has a passion for creative (content and delivery) education!
With Perth and Kinross Council and Dundee City Council (come on Fife!) he is currently delivering creative and playful learning experiences to adults, children and young people; helping them to communicate ideas ‘playfully‘ through photography, film, audio, QR Codes, social media and more.
He can use desktops and laptops but prefers to get out from behind computer and deliver a more ‘mobile‘ experience; the increasingly ubiquitous iPods, tablets and smart-phones offer broader knowledge transfer (do try this at home), are more relatable and present un-tethered experiences.
All of his learning projects are fully compliant with The Curriculum for Excellence (Scotland), and can be tailored to any specified outcomes or themes.
In 2011 Jon graduated with a Masters in Design from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (Dundee University).
SuperFly
In March 2009 Jon established SuperFly, a visual arts based creative platform for designers and artists to exhibit using outdoor media space (traditionally reserved for advertising), such as billboards and legal fly-posting sites. Since then SuperFly has received submissions of work from across the world and collaborated with artists and creative organisations from across Scotland and the UK.
